Marriage of non-Muslims in the Emirates, by law, to which the provisions of the legal Islamic marriage contract apply to a Muslim, whether a citizen or a resident, and of different nationalities
Duties of the Legal Marriage Officer (Rashid Flamarzi)
Collect all required documentation from wedding couple ID copies, ID photo, and witness IDs.
Verify that couples have fulfilled requirements to be married: Age, marital status, resident status if a foreigner, etc.
Complete the register as required with all information and see to it that it is signed by the couple as well as their 2 witnesses and signing it himself.
Complete the Marriage couple immediately on signing of the register.
Submit the register and all accompanying documentation to Home Affairs and verify that they have registered the marriage.
If there is any issue with registering, he or she is to complete what is necessary and it is registered.
Advise couples on any delays or problems with registration and how they will be resolved.

If the marriage contract is to be held at another venue, outside the Judicial Department premises, such as home, then it’s required to visit or contact the Judiciary Department to request for and book a marriage judge. (The booking can be done electronically as well.)
